June 2010
The summer has arrived with beautiful sunny hot weather but we could do with some rain at night preferably.
The apples on the trees are growing. The grass is being mown but the grass is slowing up in growth.
Our single variety apple is best drunk chilled which is an ideal drink for the summer, see our list of varieties, our email is enquiries@jusapples.co.uk
The events we are going to be attending are:
Celebration of Real Food at Broadfield Court, Bodenham on Saturday 10th July 2010 11.00am to 4.30pm
Ledbury Poetry Festival 'Town Party' in Ledbury High Street, on Sunday 12th July 2010 11.00am to 5.00pm.
August 2010.
The early varities of apples are colouring up, about another couple of weeks until the discovery apple is ready. The early varieties of plum are ripening now.
The grass looks greener now then it did two weeks ago after the long dry spell but the ground is still dry. We could do with some more rain so the apples can get a good size but the arable farms are gathering in the Barley and Oilseed Rape at the moment and would like it dry.
Discovery apples will be the first variety of apple we press in a couple of weeks time followed by Katy and Worcester Pearmain.
